SWHPN is a network for social workers and leaders who are changing the field of hospice and palliative care.

Our mission is two-fold: for people experiencing serious illness, SWHPN and its members are dedicated to advancing the role of psychosocial care for the seriously ill, providing relief from pain, improving quality of life, supporting family and friends, assisting with difficult decision-making, and helping deal with trauma, grief, and loss. Our members span practice settings across the country, from pediatric and perinatal care, to home hospice agencies, to academic research universities.

As a professional network, SWHPN works with many organizations and coalitions to build consensus and advocate for legislation, policies, research and clinical practices that enhance the larger hospice and palliative care community.

SWHPN emerged in 2007 from leadership-building initiatives spanning more than a decade, including the Project on Death in America’s Social Work Leadership Awards Program, funded by the Open Society Foundations. The overarching goal of that program, and now SWHPN, was to provide a forum for hospice and palliative social workers to collectively exercise leadership and develop their knowledge and skills.

We are intentionally addressing race, diversity, and inclusion at the end of life to improve quality of care; we are providing education to improve Grief Literacy towards building compassion for those grieving loved ones; and we are strengthening the resiliency of the interdisciplinary. Join us to create a lasting impact.

We invite you to join us in championing social workers cross the hospice and palliative care field. Read on to learn how your organization can support SWHPN and the 2023 General Assembly experience.

2023 General Assembly Support

The SWHPN General Assembly is the only annual conference of its kind in the U.S., specifically addressing the needs and issues facing the modern hospice and palliative care social worker. Last year, in our first in-person event since 2019, we safely hosted a sold-out event with nearly 350 attendees - and we expect an even bigger crowd for 2023 in Denver!

This year, we have more opportunities to interact with attendees than ever before, including our popular Sunday evening Networking Reception and specialized lunch-and-learn sessions. We are always happy to brainstorm a curated experience with you as well, to maximize your value with attendees!

Gain name recognition as a sponsor
The Assembly’s high-impact engagement options give your organization the competitive edge needed to stand out in the crowd and be recognized as a leading partner in SWHPN education.
Connect with hundreds of attendees

Broaden your exposure and demonstrate your products and services in an environment uniquely suited to leaders in our field. You can provide Assembly attendees with solutions to some of their biggest challenges.

Establish credibility as a leader in this field

Expand your message beyond the borders of your booth and capture your audience’s attention when you advertise in the Assembly program, in the mobile app, or on the website.

2023 Sponsorship Opportunities

The SWHPN Annual Assembly is a unique opportunity to reach and interact with hundreds of palliative and hospice professionals including social workers, researchers, educators, and other members of the interdisciplinary team as they collaborate to advance the psychosocial care of individuals and families living with chronic and progressive illness through workshops, presentations, and networking reception.
