Our members span practice settings across the country, from pediatric and perinatal care, to home hospice agencies, to academic research universities. As a professional network, SWHPN works with many organizations and coalitions to build consensus and advocate for legislation, policies, research and clinical practices that enhance the larger hospice and palliative care community. SWHPN emerged in 2007 from leadership-building initiatives spanning more than a decade, including the Project on Death in America’s Social Work Leadership Awards Program, funded by the Open Society Foundations. The overarching goal of that program, and now SWHPN, was to provide a forum for hospice and palliative social workers to collectively exercise leadership and develop their knowledge and skills.
The SWHPN General Assembly is the only annual conference of its kind in the U.S., specifically addressing the needs and issues facing the modern hospice and palliative care social worker. Last year, in our first in-person event since 2019, we safely hosted a sold-out event with nearly 350 attendees - and we expect an even bigger crowd for 2023 in Denver! This year, we have more opportunities to interact with attendees than ever before, including our popular Sunday evening Networking Reception and specialized lunch-and-learn sessions. We are always happy to brainstorm a curated experience with you as well, to maximize your value with attendees!
The Assembly’s high-impact engagement options give your organization the competitive edge needed to stand out in the crowd and be recognized as a leading partner in SWHPN education.
The SWHPN Annual Assembly is a unique opportunity to reach and interact with hundreds of palliative and hospice professionals including social workers, researchers, educators, and other members of the interdisciplinary team as they collaborate to advance the psychosocial care of individuals and families living with chronic and progressive illness through workshops, presentations, and networking reception. All sponsors will be recognized in all marketing collateral before and during the event, and with sponsor ribbons during the Assembly. Sponsorship packages are fully customizable to fit your organization's goals and budget.
