Register Now for the 2023 General Assembly
The SWHPN General Assembly is a one-of-a-kind experience in learning, networking, and professional development for hospice and palliative care psychosocial professionals, including:
- In-depth learning from experts and peers: SWHPN's General Assembly offers two full days of highly engaging presentations on both days of the conference (Monday, April 24 and Tuesday, April 25) to provide more opportunities for deeper learning and engagement.
- High-quality keynotes and deep-dive sessions: SWHPN 2023 is an opportunity to learn about current events, changes in the healthcare field, latest research on hospice and palliative measures, and innovations in clinical practice.
- Poster Walks: Join your colleagues on a guided poster walk in the main conference area, and listen in as presenters showcase their work. Conference chairs will lead small groups around curated, pre-selected posters.
- Continuing Education Units (CEUs):
- SWHPN expects to offer 10- 14 Continuing Education Units for the Monday and Tuesday General Assembly, with additional CEs available for the optional pre-conference sessions.
- For attendees from New York state, we expect to offer the same amounts by the New York State Education Department's State Board for Social Work (#SW-0503).

* Important Registration Information:
- Due to increased costs for room rental, food and beverage, and A/V, we have found it necessary to increase the conference registration costs for the first time since 2018. We hope the decrease in hotel room costs helps offset this increase.
- SWHPN members save $165 on conference registration. To become a SWHPN member and get the SWHPN New & Renewing Member rate, create a SWHPN account on the registration page and click "Join SWHPN" when you begin registration.
- Discounted rates are available for groups of 5+ social workers attending from the same organization. Please inquire with Judy Santay, Membership Manager, at [email protected] for more information.
- For employers, or employees whose registration is covered by your employer: you must pay your registration at the time you register. If your organization would like to pay by check, please email [email protected] to register and pay by invoice.
Cancellation Policy:
- SWHPN will honor cancellations up until 4/23/23, minus a $35 processing fee.
- If a COVID surge requires us to cancel/postpone the in-person event in April 2023, we will evaluate ways to hold the event completely virtually. We are also working on procedures to determine how to continue the breakout sessions if, for example, one presenter/panelist cannot attend due to illness or exposure. We guarantee that we will communicate with you clearly and frequently, especially as we get closer to the event date.
- We are optimistic that, similar to what we’ve seen in past years, there is a fall COVID surge and then a period of relative lower community spread in the spring. We understand that many places are no longer requiring masks even in healthcare settings. As a healthcare-related organization committed to promoting accessibility, we hope that having some protective measures in place will allow for a successful and enjoyable experience for everyone.
