This case presentation will detail the emerging ethical constructs of maternalism, relational autonomy, and informed non-dissent and how they show significant promise in addressing the needs of providers, patients, and surrogates in complex medical decision-making. A case-based demonstration rooted in these constructs will be outlined along with the opportunity for dynamic dialogue.
