During this session, Abigail Latimer, LCSW, APHSW-C and Daisy Brown, MSW, LCSW, CCTP will have an open dialogue of their experience in navigating the supervisory relationship in the presence of racial differences and power differentials. Daisy and Abbie will show although conflict is uncomfortable, it is necessary to establish a culture of trust, become open-minded, and help become a part of the solution to a global problem. Attendees will learn and gain knowledge from their experience. Attendees will be encouraged to participate with their own experiences, challenges, and opportunities in advancing diversity and inclusion in palliative and hospice social work.
This webinar is free and open to both Social Work Hospice & Palliative Care Network members and non-members. This is not offered for CE credit. In addition, she is co-Pastor of Remnant Community Church and founder and Executive Director of Remnant Community Corporation, a non-profit organization in Lexington, KY. Daisy Brown is a published author, and has helped colleagues create on-demand webinars designed to enhance the difference between mental health illness and mental health. She is a graduate of the University of Kentucky BSW and MSW programs. In addition, Ms. Brown received an Associate degree in Arts and Sciences, with a major in Business Management and was Ordained as a Pastor in 2009. Daisy Brown has a deep passion and unique skills to work closely with people and help them reach their fullest potential through developing goals, creating healthy boundaries, and empowering them for change. Her approach to counseling is straight forward but warm and loving. She provides a perspective into situations that allow for growth and healing. Daisy believes she was born to be a therapist and loves helping people learn and grow.
