Strategies for Avoiding Empathy Fatigue and Developing Emotional Resilience During the Pandemic: An Interactive Conversation
Tuesday, September 14, 2021, 5:00 PM - 6:00 PM EDT
Category: Webinars

As we watch ERs and ICUs once again filling with patients that need critical medical support, work with families that are facing visitor restrictions, and help support our hospital colleagues that are fatigued and stressed, we are hearing from members that empathy fatigue is setting in. Fighting against this isn’t as simple as doing a quick Google search for “self-care tips.” We would like to hear from you about what you are seeing and experiencing now and discuss ways SWHPN can support social workers and their colleagues in the field.

How are you finding ways to build up your own reservoir of emotional resilience? Where are you finding ways to recharge?  We invite you to join us for a Town Hall-style interactive discussion on Tuesday, September 14 at 5 pm EDT / 2 pm PDT. Led by three of SWHPN’s Board members, we will be sharing what has worked (and what hasn’t!), reviewing what the literature has to offer, and collectively learning strategies and resources to help navigate through the next phase of the COVID pandemic.

As a result of attending this webinar, attendees will be able to:

  1. Describe empathy fatigue and its impacts among social workers and health care staff in response to the COVID pandemic
  2. Identify tips and resources for developing your own emotional resiliency
  3. Develop strategies to help support your team in addressing empathy fatigue to prevent burnout

DATE: Tuesday, September 14, 2021 at 5:00 pm EDT | 2:00 pm PDT | Register here

CostFREE for SWHPN members | $25 for nonmembers (members, be sure to log in at the top-right of this page to receive this webinar for free!)
