The 2022 SWHPN Virtual Summits are half-day virtual events, designed to highlight current issues in hospice and palliative care, and the role of social workers as leaders within it. The sessions are led by experts in the field, and are highly interactive, with ample time for Q-and-A and networking. Each Summit takes place from 12:00pm - 4:30pm EST, followed by an open networking session for all attendees. The complete schedule is below.

CONTINUING EDUCATION INFORMATION

Social Worker attendees of the Virtual Summit will receive 3.0 continuing education (CE) credits provided by California State University San Marcos (CSUSM) Extended Learning, accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC). In order to receive credits, you will need to attend the Virtual Summit in its entirety and complete an evaluation for each individual session. Additionally, you must complete an overall conference evaluation by December 31, 2022. At this time, we are unable to give partial credit for this event.

For social workers licensed in New York, SWHPN is recognized by the New York State Education Department’s State Board for Social Work as an approved provider of continuing education for licensed social workers #SW-0503.

Each Summit will have the following schedule:

All times listed are Eastern Standard / Daylight time. SWHPN Summits are hosted on the Zoom videoconferencing platform.

12:00 pm: Introduction and Welcome

The SWHPN Summit kicks off with an introduction from SWHPN Executive Director Jessica Strong and resources from our partners.

12:15 pm: Keynote / Plenary

60 minute keynote presentation followed by 15 minutes of live Q&A with the presenters.

1:30 pm: Break

Grab a snack, stretch your legs, and then return to the main meeting room by 1:45 EDT.

1:45 pm: Break Sessions I

Head to your breakout room for another 60-minute presentation followed by 15 minutes of live Q&A with the presenters and discussion with your group.

3:00 pm: BREAK

Grab a snack, stretch your legs, and then return to the main meeting room by 3:15 EDT.

3:15 pm: Breakout Sessions II

Head to your breakout room for the final 60-minute presentation of the day followed by 15 minutes of live Q&A with the presenters and discussion with your group.

4:30 pm: Virtual Social Hour [optional]

Join SWHPN and your colleagues for a recap and brief social hour to close out the Summit.
