THE SWHPN 2019 CALL FOR ABSTRACTS IS OPEN!

The Call for Abstracts for the 7th annual SWHPN General Assembly is now open! The theme for this year is The Power of Social Work: Advancing Your Leadership in Hospice and Palliative Care.

Please download the 2019 Abstract Submission Guide for presentation format descriptions. Abstract proposals will be accepted for the following presentation formats:

  • 20-minute oral presentations, with time after for Q&A (for case studies, and subjects that are limited in scope)
  • 45-minute presentations, with time after for Q&A
  • New this year! Poster presentations for Poster Walks
    • New to the 2019 conference, we will be hosting guided poster walks in the main conference room so presenters can showcase their work. Conference chairs will lead small groups around pre-selected posters, giving the authors ten minutes to present and answer questions. Awards will be given for the best posters in Research and Clinical Practice.
  • New this year! Roundtable Discussions (a great opportunity for newer practitioners and social workers!):
    • Roundtable sessions will comprise 10 minute presentations followed by 45 minutes of discussion with small groups. Roundtables are ideal for novice researchers and clinicians to learn presentation skills and receive feedback from participants who share their interests. There will be 4 roundtable discussion sessions this year in the following areas: Geriatrics, Pediatrics, Hospice, and Oncology.
  • Symposia (panel presentations) - 45- or 90-minutes, with time after for Q&A
  • Pre-conference workshops (3 hours, to be held on Sunday, March 17th)

Detailed information on how to complete the online submission form is available in the Abstract Submission Guide

Presenters will be notified in late-October 2018 of 1) whether their presentation was accepted, and 2) for which presentation format. All presenters who accept the offer to present are required to register for the conference and will receive the early member rate of $435.

Submissions will be accepted from Friday, July 27 through 11:59pm EST on September 27, 2018. The abstract deadline will not be extended this year. Please read the 2019 Abstract Submission Guidelines before you submit an abstract.
