Norma del Rio, MSW, has worked in end-of-life care for about 11 years.  Currently, she works as a medical social worker and bereavement coordinator in the palliative care team of Health at Home, the home care agency for the Community Health Network, San Francisco's Dept. of Public Health. In July 2000, she was awarded a Social Work Leaders ward grant by Project on Death in America, Open Society Institute. The project Multicultural Social Work Practice with Clients at the End of Life, is in collaboration with the Institute for Multicultural Research and Social Work Practice, School of Social Work, San Francisco State University.  Ms. del Rio is a founding member of ACCESS to End-of-Life Care: A Community Initiative, a grassroots community based organization dedicated to educate health care professionals as well as the community at large about multicultural end-of-life care.
