Dr. Csikai is currently Assistant Professor of Social Work at Stephen F. Austin State University. She teaches both social work practice (generalist, advanced generalist, health care, aging) and research in an MSW program.  Her research is focused on end-of-life care issues and ethical issues for social workers in health care that arise from these issues and how to enhance social work practice in end-of-life care.

Dr. Csikai also has several years of direct practice in health care settings including in trauma/intensive care, emergency and in a hospice agency. She has seen a great need both from her own experience and through her research for the development of the end-of-life care curriculum that is the focus of her grant project with Mary Raymer.
