London hospice starts a new blog

June 2, 2009

St. Christopher’s Hospice in London has started a new blog to keep care professionals in touch with end-of-life issues. The hospice expects blog author and educator Malcolm Payne will generate interest and controversy. Barbara Monroe, chief executive at St. Christopher’s Hospice, says she hopes the blog will raise palliative care professionals’ awareness of the role social workers play in end-of-life care, such as reducing social isolation people with a serious illness experience and helping to strengthen family caregivers ability to care for the dying person and cope with bereavement. The Misys Charitable Foundation sponsors the blog. (more info)
